Digital Cinema Nepal (DCN) was established by Nepali Cinema Industry leaders in 2007 to facilitate the distribution of cinema content to theaters across Nepal. By distributing content in the digital format, DCN has made cinema entertainment more accessible to a larger section of the population, decreased cost for its filmmaker and theater partners, and introduced consistently high quality movie going experience across Nepal.
DCN, with its UFO Digital Cinema Servers, was the first service provider to market digital theatrical content in Nepal. At present, DCN has also developed its own DCN Digital Cine Server DCN provides services to nearly 112 theaters across Nepal, from Mechi to Mahakali where the movie has to be flown in as the town is still lacks a servicable road.
DCN’s vision is to make the cinema experience accessible, affordable, and exciting for Nepal’s cinema-going population. DCN is committed to serving the cinema industry in Nepal, and around the region, by providing exhibition opportunities for theatrical content created in the numerous local languages of Nepal and around the region. To date, DCN has distributed contents in English, Hindi, Nepali and other languages.Click here to view the Chairman's Speech
